
The Center for Combating Gender - Based Violence and Multiple Discrimination of the City of Athens operates in the framework of the implementation of the Project "European Charter for promoting gender equality and combatting discrimination", is co-financed by the Hellenic Republic and the European Union and operates according to the standards of the counseling centers of the General Secretariat for Demography and Family Policy and Gender Equality.
The Center’s role is dual:
1. It provides counseling services to any adult who has experienced gender-based violence and multiple discrimination.
2. It promotes gender equality so that all the policies and actions of the city of Athens integrate a gender perspective (gender mainstreaming).

As regards combating gender-based violence, the Center provides the following services free of charge:
- Social Support
- Psychological Support
- Legal Counseling
- Job Counseling
- Referrals
- Information on Gender-Based Violence issues
As regards the promotion of gender equality, the Center:
- Suggests, organizes and implements actions that integrate a gender perspective
- Informs and raises awareness on gender equality issues
